Do you have a better chance of being chosen to be on Survivor if you're good looking?

Honestly take a look at them like except for the occasional old person everyone else is really good looking! They have perfect straight white teeth (even after months on an island without dental hygiene), perfect skin and bodies, no body hair whatsoever or an ounce of fat between them! And they all seem to have really good careers too there's never any unemployed people or people who like... work at McDonalds or something. Like... what is this? I always thought the contestants were chosen at random or by "personality" but I doubt that now.Do you have a better chance of being chosen to be on Survivor if you're good looking?
IF YOUR NOT GOOD LOOKING , YOU HAVE TO A BIG PERSONALITY OR A GOOD BACKGOUND STORY TO GET ON THE SHOWDo you have a better chance of being chosen to be on Survivor if you're good looking?
Think back to the first season. Many of the contestants were not good looking, Sonja, Sue, Richard, Rudy, BB etc. As the show has gone on though they are finding it harder to cast people. The same people they rejected keep applying so they have gone to get actors/models or wanna-be actors/models. Obviously this means the players are good looking, a lot of them just want to boost their careers.

It is also more entertaining to watch fit people do physical challenges. If they had too many people that were overweight it would be impossible to have physical challenges. And they're my favorite kind of challenge to watch.

Besides in life in general you're more likely to be hired for a job if you're good looking. That's just the way life is.
I think you have a better chance to be chosen for ANYTHING if you're good looking. But in the case of television, of course they're going to cast attractive people. And as far as their careers ... don't you win Survivor by being clever, outsmarting your competition, as well as pushing yourself physically, doing anything it takes to make it? That sounds more like a go-getter attitude that business types use to get ahead than someone happily working at McDonalds.Do you have a better chance of being chosen to be on Survivor if you're good looking?
It's ridiculous, but true. The people they cast are usually good looking, fit, and not representative of the general population of the USA. There are a few older people and one or overweight people, but most of them are model-like. I guess the producers think the viewers would rather watch attractive people in swimsuits, as opposed to the less attractive ones. It's show business.

The same can be said about the Real World. The first few seasons (back in the 90s) were great because you had a good cross-section of people in the cast. Now, all the cast members are good looking, but lacking in personality and are so disrespectful/annoying. I quit watching years ago.
Well..let's see..some people who were chosen....Sue Hawk, Lex Van den Berghe, Jon Dalton, Sandra Twine, Rupert Boenham, Lillian Morris, Janu Torrell, Shane Powers, Cerie Fields, Jonathan Penner, Randy Bailey, Ben "Coach" Wade, Tyson Apostol, Russell Hanz, Shannon "Shambo" Waters, Twilla Tanner...

There's just a list from memory of people who weren't necessarily attractive people...and, most of those are from the finals....I'm sure there were plenty of people who weren't good looking who were voted off too early to be memorable.Do you have a better chance of being chosen to be on Survivor if you're good looking?
yeah, well that is the media :)

all they want is attractive people.
