How to drop out of high school...?

First of all, please do not comment telling me not to drop out. I don't even know if I can, so there's no use in trying to make me not. Plus, I'm very stubborn, a few words that I read online isn't going to convince me.

I'm 17 years old and I live in Ohio. I'm not in regular school, more like, Digital Academy. I do work online. Now, I've asked my friend to ask a counsular at her school about dropping out and all they said was to tell me not to, and that I'd need a career pass/career job to drop out. Now honestly, how many 17 year olds do you know that has a career job?! McDonalds maybe, but not career. Very few can get one because they're smart. I'm not one of those few. I'm wondering if there's any other way or any laws that clearly state this and if so, where can I find it to read it?How to drop out of high school...?
Sorry, but unfortunately for you (although you will probably look back on this a good thing) The compulsory age of attendance in Ohio is 6 to 18. In other words you cant drop out "legally" until you are 18. But by then why wouldn't you just finish the last couple of months. There is no parental consent exception unless you are being home schooled. The only other way to legally get out of there is to graduate early.

If you want to research the statutes and case law yourself see my source list, that should get you started.

Here's a little piece of advise even though you don't want it. Not getting a high school diploma WILL haunt you the rest of your life. It will be a constant source of embarrassment and will exclude you from future opportunities. You're so close, you should just finish your degree. I don't care how good your job is now, why limit yourself when it would be so easy not to.How to drop out of high school...?
First of all you may want to reconsider dropping out, after all your grammar sucks! Good Luck with that one buddy!
you can drop out, but have fun working at WAC ARNOLDS for your career, try graduating from a public HSHow to drop out of high school...?
Have you tried getting a tutor? My advice is to look online for someone who will tutor you ...some may do this as a community service. Everyone is equally smart. People learn in different ways for example through lists, pictures, diagrams, outlines, etc .. .maybe your school isn't geared to the type of learning that's best for you, but a tutor might be able to help you see a different perspective
You have to find out what the legal drop out age is for Ohio. In Pennsylvania, it is 17. At 17 you can drop out of school without parental consent. It is probably the same in Ohio, but you could call the Dept. of Education in Columbus and ask that question. Perhaps you could find the answer online -- look up the Ohio Department of Education. How to drop out of high school...?
You can drop out of high school at 16 with consent from parents. At 18 you can do it yourself. Have your parents write a letter to the Principal, and they can't stop you from dropping out. At least get your GED at some point to keep your options open when you grow up. Good luck.
Just don't show up. If you don't want to learn what they are teaching you, STAY HOME! Your wasting your teachers time, and your time. Go get a job and earn a living. Enter the real world of rent and bills. If I were your age, I would fail every class so I could repeat, thus I would not have to get into the real world for at least for another year. As far as getting a job, your bound to not be happy in any job, so find something that pays relatively well. Regardless, you are going to have to pay some dues by doing work that is beneath you, but we ALL do/did it. Later in life you see that paying your dues is worth the hassle. Apply for government jobs. They take forever to get hired, and you'll probably not qualify for most of them, but everyone qualifies for some of them. Government jobs pay well, and they are secure (compared to the private sector, who screw you in at-will positions). Once you get in, you can move around to other govt jobs easily.
I understand that difficulty i know its crap sometimes when people say oh you should never drop out but really should should think of your life. Think of what would be different if you did or didnt drop out. Talk to many people about this.
Join the army
the army can get you out because its considered a career but you'd be nothing but a target with a gun because you can't get very far without your hs diploma, in canada they won't even take us if we don't have our hs.
You just stop going.
You have to check your local laws but you should have no problem dropping out.

I teach at an alternative high school in Texas and, being the last hope for most, see a lot of kids drop all the way out. Before you do this consider the following articles. They talk about AVERAGE income of various groups. Understand that I am a teacher and am not in it for the money but I do like to support my children...and I like to eat out...A LOT(could explain the sudden weight gain.)

Take Care.
I could give you the information you need, but since I鈥檇 also have to give you my opinion about how incredibly stupid this is--and I鈥檓 sure it would p*ss you off--I'd better just keep my mouth shut.

But just an FYI鈥uch of the information that you鈥檝e received on here, has been incorrect for the state of Ohio (although it may be, and likely is, the case in other states).
look into the crystal ball and you'll see an unfulfilled life and crappy job.
