Has anyone worked in fast food during high school and then gone on to have a technical career?

I am interested in seeing if a correlation exists.

If you worked at a big name (McDonald's, Taco Bell, KFC, Burger King, Wendy's, etc.) and then went on to have a technical career (engineering, statistics, computer programming, etc.), could you please let me know by answering this question? Thanks.Has anyone worked in fast food during high school and then gone on to have a technical career?
I worked at McDonald's %26amp; struggled my whole life with work it did nothing good for me.....My son worked over a year for Taco Bell %26amp; he recieved a finance degree. He went to work for home depo then in construction %26amp; after the finance degree he was a superintendent in construction %26amp; working many hours a week %26amp; still working on his MBA. I think his degree has something also to do with building management %26amp; he may be involves some how with engineering.Has anyone worked in fast food during high school and then gone on to have a technical career?
es

it can happenHas anyone worked in fast food during high school and then gone on to have a technical career?
I worked at Barnes %26amp; Noble when I was 18. I'm a Network Engineer.

Well technically, I had just graduated high school when I got that job. Oh well. Maybe Barnes %26amp; Noble doesn't count anyway.
I worked for Burger King with my best friend for two week. Our parents wouldn't buy us the rebok high tops that we wanted unless we had a job (I'll wait for you to finish laughing).

I'm now, an executive assistant and an Firefighter/EMTHas anyone worked in fast food during high school and then gone on to have a technical career?
hundreds of millions of people
Wow, you must be one fat fk

working at all the food shops and now on the computer all day
My son's friend worked at Hardee's for quite a few years. He finally went to technical school (cost about $22,000) for a year and a half. He now has a good job with a computer company down in NC. He's doing very well!
I started at McDonald's and worked there for a while. I got CCNA certifications and worked as a network administrator for a few years.
Of course! Successful people have to make some money in High School. Just make good grades and go to College. MY husband used to work at Subway and went to college and he is now in computer programming making very good money. Dont worry, if you keep up those grades and you are determined and you are good at what you do, then you will be very successful!!
I haven't but I have friends who have... I don't think it matters where you work when you're in high school, if your working period and going to school and doing good at work, thats a good sign of responsibility so should do well after high school :D
of course :] if you stick with a job for the time needed then it only ups your chances of stick to your technical career. its not a fun job but it shows that you want to get to your dream. good luck. :]
Um...Um... many have worked fast food during high school and attended college, technical school and other post secondary institutions.

My cardiologist worked at Long John Silvers when he was in high school, I know as I was his boss!

I don't see the purpose of your question but that's what Y! Answers is for.
without the proper technical traning most of your chances are slim, but you wont know if you dont try to apply for those kind of jobs, just beef up your resume a little bit and kiss butt and you'll get a job. just tell them what they want to here but you must if hired show you can do the job at least somewhat. and yes you do have a chance i worked at whataburger for a year and moved to company that sold very expensive house held accessories within a couple of weeks of very strainiouse searching for a job of employment of something i never thought i would get a job in. but then fraud came into play with the owner and the company shut down.with the money i saved i now own a lawncare/landscape business. just follow your gut feeling dont giveup

Happy hunting
not me. still in fast food, and no college degree
