What's the difference between lying and dishonesty?

My parents always tell me that I am dishonest, but my teachers in high school called me a liar everyday.

Are you seriously trying to make a correlation between your current job choice and the fact that people called you a liar as a kid? If so, that's a big leap to make. I'd also have to say that if you just graduated, you've got to work just like the rest of us to get where you want to be. McDonald's is a great place to work, especially if you're interested in pursuing management...So don't knock what you must think is beneath you.



Now, to get really technical, the prefix dis- means "not," "opposite of," "absent of," etc. In a sense, dishonest just means you're absent of honesty. Honesty is "adherence to facts; sincere." A liar is a person who knowingly asserts something that is untrue. Basically, a lair is someone who is dishonest.



Your parents were just trying to use positive language, and your teachers were just trying to tell it like it is.

There really isn't a difference. Dishonesty is just a more intelligent way to decribe being a liar.

theres a very fine line in between but somehow there exactly the same dont worry buddy youve just left school you need cash theres not a problem working in maccas at least you finished high school i didnt cheer up theres nothing stopping you from broadening your horizons and picking up some new skills to make a career for yourself your just a baby you have the rest of your life yet to do what ever you wanna do!!!!!!!!!
