Working at mcdonalds?

ok couple of questions. i am in serious need of a job, and mcdonalds is a pretty easy place to get one. everyone says it sucks. but can it really be that bad? i mean im not looking for a career, just a job until i find something better.

also, my friend just got hired there and she can only work 2 days a week due to college, and she makes 7.25/hr. if i get hired, will i absolutely start out at that rate, or can it be higher? at my last job i made 8.05 and i put that on the mcdonalds application.

if anyone works there can you tell me in detail what it is like? im not lookin for, it sucks or get a better job, or somethin stupid like that. this is my only resort right now so i need serious answers.'

thank youWorking at mcdonalds?
How many jobs have you had? You mention one previously, where you made $8.05/hour--did you start out at that pay rate? McDonalds is often considered a starting place to gain experience--the hours can be flexible, the job takes no special skills. And you may get raises. Usually you start out doing cleaning--i.e. emptying garbage bins, cleaning garbage off tables and throwing out, wiping tables down, mopping floors, taking garbage to outside bin, etc. Then you move up to cash. My nephew started there in grade 7 I believe and by grade 11 he was an assistant manager. It looks good on his resume, because he stuck with it and received promotions until he reached the highest position for a non-career employee, that is, he was going to study for a different career, not stay to manage a McDonalds. Don't consider it a last resort, but a great opportunity. Your hard work could be recognized with promotions, or more hours which will give you more money, or salary increases. There are tons of worse jobs.Working at mcdonalds?
alot of people say you failed in life if you end up working at mcdonalds but its not true.I went after school the other week for some food, and I saw this girl, who used to go to my school. She started off as just serving burgers, moved up to assistant manager and said she gets promoted all the time. So it sounds like Mcdonalds is the good option to work your way up and obviously as you get promoted your pay goes up,but if you just want to earn some extra money then why not?. there are worst jobs :L
