Why is a fast food place like McDonald's a bad career?

i have to right this essay about a career i DISLIKE the most and i chose fast food like McDonald's or Jack in the box. and i have no idea of what to write about why it is a bad career..Why is a fast food place like McDonald's a bad career?
Why I wouldn't want a career as a McDonalds manager.



1. Salaries are moderate at best.

2. Long hours, late hours, weekend hours.

3. Repetitive, unrewarding work.

4. What's to feel good about serving people garbage food?

If you work in a franchised store there is little room to move up but in a operated store people do move up to executive position. Not many but it is not unheard of. McD's is a good job for students and it looks great on a resume (fast paced, demanding) but as a career it wouldn't be my first choice but for some people, they don't have a choice.
I work at McDonald's and i am going to college but people tend to forget that some of us are just there to get to a better place. so the customers are very rude and many get enraged easily. For example we had this one man throw 2 shakes on the floor because "they didn't look like the picture" and frankley that is something we hear a lot. For the staff and the people i work with they all love drinking and the sleep around with each other, and then later wonder why they have conflict at work. No one is ever on time but a small handfull of people, and most of my managers eat on the clock and sit down or txt or even call someone on the phone. McDonald's is a very unstructured work place depending on the franchise.Also to get a raise is a little easier than everyone thinks but moving up is like trying to move a moutain. I may just have bad luck with this one. But it wears you down having to deal with these kind of people everyday. Also there is no sense of acomplishment its just hurry to get the food out and repeat it over and over to you have to go home. I do have to give credit to those who do work at McDonald's and do, do what they are suppost to but most of them are lazy, unpunctual and have no work ethic. ...................I hope this helps :) i know this is pretty much a "me" story but i hope you can get parts out of here! :)Why is a fast food place like McDonald's a bad career?
People say that there is no room to move up. You don't make enough money, and the pay is not great.

But you do have to learn how to crawl before you can take off running. So I feel that McDonald's is a

good place for a young person to start. He can learn many things. How to be responsible,How to get along with others and learn skills .Math, cooking, cleaning, counting, inventory etc.
Because you don't get a raise ever and managers may only make 12 dollars an hour tops



Crappy hours, dealing with customers, and having to clean up some disgusting messes. Not worth the 7.25 an hour.

well some people might say fast food places are DEAD END jobs cuz of no college exp or whatever....therefore an office job is better...but the way i see it..a job is a job enough said!
because of the little pay, and minimum requirements.
It might not be the best choose but it is still a job with pay.
