When McDonald's and Coca-Cola named new chief executives earlier this month, few investors or employees seemed to notice or care that the new leaders of the two American business icons weren't Americans. The McDonald's CEO, Charles Bell, is Australian. Coke's new CEO, E. Neville Isdell, is an Irish citizen, and he replaces an Australian, Douglas Daft.

In the U.S., more and more companies have foreign-born chief executives. These CEOs include Kellogg's Carlos Gutierrez, who was born in Cuba

Not that the US born CEOs, like Immelt (GE), don't get help from the Obama administration...

Not only GE has paid NO TAXES on the $14.2 billion profit of 2010 ( http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/general-e鈥?/a> ), but it is moving the X-RAY business in China...

I know this may be an insane concept for you, but the board of directors can appoint anybody they want to various leadership positions. Multi-national companies are just that, and it is not uncommon for many executives to hold duel citizenship, foreign passports, and speak several languages fluently.

Why?

Because they have a responsibility to their investors, not to you and me, and they are also far more likely to make appointments based upon competence and not political correctness. Being a competent businessman in the massive competitiveness of the world markets is a huge responsibility.

I can only assume you made this poll as a means to promote Obama in some way, not to promote the essential nature of laissez-faire business practices?
