Whats the difference between a job and a career.?

Is money the factor? Or is it the fancy title?

I work in banking, but I would hardly say its a career.

But think about it.

The GM of McDonalds probably makes more than an Accountant in his first year or two.

A high class Stripper makes more than a RN

but if you said Im a stripper or the GM of McDonalds, people would assume you have a job, not a career.

So heres my question: What is a career and what is a job?Whats the difference between a job and a career.?
A career is usually a job or series of jobs with opportunity for advancement.

A job usually has no opportunity for advancement.Whats the difference between a job and a career.?
Well Stripping only lasts as long as people will give you those dollars in your thong, and that ain't forever Honey! And sooner or later that RN will surpass that stripper in money making and more than likely own her/his own home, same as the accountant vs the GM of a McDonald's! Now, that being said, I made more money working construction than I did as a reporter for newspapers, but I chose reporting for the enjoyment and longevity of the career over that construction job! Maybe it's the blue collar vs the white collar thing? Maybe it's the avenue of being upwardly mobile in your calling, I've never heard of too many strippers being promoted, and you're pretty much at the top of your game in burger flippin when you hit General Manager of Micky D's!
A career is your life-chosen professional undertaking or job, like a doctor, an engineer or a lawyer, while a job is your actual work on a day to day basis. In other words, your job might not be the career that you want but it gives you the monetaryrequirements to further advance your chosen profession in the future.Whats the difference between a job and a career.?
money and if it's longterm. A job is what you get paid to do now but you could be let ago at anytime becuase you probally don't have many skills or others alot of others could do it too. A carrer is more like you being a prfessional and you're alomst guarented a job somewhere with your career.
a job is what you do to make money...a career is the job that you make your living on basically...for example...i work at a pizza place(valentinos if u have ever heard of it)...so that is my job, but it is not my career...i want my career to be something else like working with computers or cars... do u get it?Whats the difference between a job and a career.?
A career is a job that you'll do for the rest of your life to support you and your family. A plain job is when you're doing a job just for yourself, or it may also be temporary.
Job is usually temporary.

A career you study in college for years and get paid big money and its something you enjoy and want to do for the rest of your life.
a job is something you do for a while a carer is something you do for a long time for example my dad has been in his career for 30 yrs and he has been doing it since he was sixteen
A career you have passion for you take your career with you were ever you go.

A job you take because you need money a job is just a job!
A career is something you enjoy doing, whereas a job is just a way to make ends meet; maybe helping you reach some goal. Can't wait until I have a career.
People who haven't graduated from college have jobs.

Focused college graduates have careers.
