Ok, Im looking for a job and I do not have a college education. READ inside please.?

1. I am a woman. So please dont call me "man" lol.

2. I do not want to work at home.

Ok, I am well aware that its sort of limited without a higher education, but I need peoples advice on kinds of job I should get. This will be my FIRST job, so nothing seriously complicated. Im just looking for full time. I just want a weekly paycheck, not necessarily a career right now.

Even mcdonalds would be alright for starters, but I would realy like to know you're experiences there if you've worked there? I just need a job that hires full time. None of that stupid fill ins part time.

Thank you. And yes, I come back in 4 hours and give 10 pts to my favorite answer. :)Ok, Im looking for a job and I do not have a college education. READ inside please.?
There are a lot of jobs you can do without a college degree. When you do your resume, include skills you have:

If you've been a stay at home mom - you certainly have organizational skills, customer service skills, telephone skills, appointment setting, problem solving, multi-tasking, filing, sorting, checking / savings accounts, computer literate and even project management. Think of the things you do daily as if you were doing them in an office / business setting and highlight those skills in your resume.

Apply for jobs:

Administrative Assistant

Receptionist

Records Clerk

Front Desk Clerk (hotels, motels, storage facilities)

Cashier / Stocking Clerk (Walmart, Department Stores)

Daycare School Settings

Daycare at Fitness Centers

Leasing Consultant

Secretary (most any business)

Most any job that you want, is worth a try, you may just have the experience they need and you just don't even realize that you do - when I've hired people in the past, I would rather hire someone willing to learn rather than someone that "knows it all" and has learned bad habits through past experiences. Just your research and asking questions before applying is an awesome start and shows your dedication to finding the right fit for you and the potential employer.Ok, Im looking for a job and I do not have a college education. Well there are many things, you dont 'have' to have a college education to work, but if you did have that higher learning there are obviously more opportunities and of course the pay is better. But Diplomas are fine too. Some people cannot afford college anyhow.

I once worked in a McDonald's and I did have full time. It wasn't bad, I made a quarter more than minimum wage when I started. But you MUST stress you NEED full time BEFORE you are hired, otherwise they will put you on part time.

Also, stay away from grocery and convenient stores. Those place hardly ever hire full time, and they treat their employees like garbage. Because yes, that's exactly what most of them are, "fill ins".

Also, you could look into janitor jobs. They make pretty good money. And women CAN be janitors. :)

Good luck.
The real answer is that if you get your foot in the door and prove your a good employee you can make some good money. Just work hard at whatever job you find and you will move up. Try going to the local unemployment office. Apply to many jobs since you don't have anything to loose by trying.Ok, Im looking for a job and I do not have a college education. READ inside please.?
Even McDonalds doesn't typically hire full time to start. Retail may be your best best if looking for full time work. You may have to get 2 part-time jobs - difficult to achieve because of possibly conflicting schedules, but without an advanced education and this being your first job, your options are limited
Well, for starters you can work as a Medical Assistant, work in a warehouse and get paid like 15-20 bucks an hr, Leasing Assistant for an apartment complex, etc....There are many jobs that you can do w/out a college degree. Careerbuilder, Monster, Yahoohotjobs, and your local newspaper should have many openings, broaden your horizon, Mcdonalds is not bad but look at your overall perspective.....Ok, Im looking for a job and I do not have a college education. You should look for something in telemarketing or phone service.. those are good jobs..
hi have you any interest in reception type duties - typing answering phones it is very basic but im doing it right now and i get to talk ojnline most of the day during quiet peroids the pay isn't huge but there is potential to move up. i love my job its full time 9 -5.

It may not be right for you
Your lack of an education is not a handicap at this time, but it will be in the future if you do not get a good education.

The Company may worry that without schooling you won’t have the basic tools needed to handle the certain aspects of the job. It may also be looking for proof that you can undergo the long-term dedication necessary to achieve a degree.

You may need to consider the importance of a degree to the position you are interested in. The need for a degree could be very real, in which case you may have to think about possibilities of pursuing additional education.

Here’s what an HR professional says about education.

“Certifications don't impress me. For all I know you could have done a 'brain dump' or are good at memorizing. Degrees are only a little better - often because what you get taught in college bears little resemblance to the 'real world'. But they are a little better than certifications because it shows me that you can 'think on your feet' a little.

What you need to bring out is 1) your experience (broad is better than deep) 2) Your ability to work on a team and how you would handle difficult and egotistical people. 3) Somehow, explain to me how flexible and trainable you are. You don't have to be an 'exact fit' if you are bright, flexible, and trainable.”

Peace asnd blessings!
