Should I still send a Thank You letter?

I am currently unemployed and went on a few interviews. I realized that I forgot to send a thank you letter to a position I really wanted. I interviewed last Thursday and today it is Monday evening. (4 days) They say you should send a thank you letter within 24 hours of finishing an interview just thanking the interviewer for taking the time to meet with you. Should I still send the interviewer(s) an email thanking them for interviewing me, or would it just look awkward if I send it now? The position is for a admissions counselor with a local university. I am trying to get out of commissioned sales and into a more stable career. I am 27 male with a Business Finance degree. With that said, I dont want to hear from people interviewing for jobs at McDonalds. I want to hear from people who are in the adult world working in real careers. Thanks for your help!Should I still send a Thank You letter?
I would say better late than not at all. The fact that you sent a thank you might make a lasting impression. Send it. It's never too late to show that you have good manners.
