I am thinking about it because you get to dance, sing, travel and go to VIP places, but I am not sure if this is for me. People have told me that most musicians do not make a lot of money, but then I don't know. I don't want to be like a Disney star, but more like a k pop artist.
Can someone list me the pros and cons?
I also have some questions.
1. Do you get a lot of free time if you become a pop artist? How much sleep do you get?
2. Since your always with fans, can you still date in life?
3. Do you get freedom in your music or are you told like exactly what you have to do by your record company?
4. What happens to the artists who don't make it?
5. Can you still go to college or change careers later?
6. Can you still do things normal people do like eat at McDonalds, spending time with friends, going to a theater to watch a movie?
7. Any opinions, suggestions, advice, or other information you think I should know?Is it worth going into the Pop music industry?
1. I wouldn't say you get a lot of free time or a lot of sleep.
2. Of course you can still date. You aren't always with fans.
3. Depends which company you choose. Unfortunately nowadays it's more likely that if you want to make a career of it, your music is a product you want to sell so you have to comply to demands of your label / the public.
4. Artists who don't make it might end up working minor jobs or if they have qualifications work their back-up plan job.
5. If you've got enough money to afford college you definitely can. Money is the big thing here.
6. Yes, you can still do normal things. If you're successful you might get pesky fans asking for photos etcetera or even paparazzi, but if you respond correctly it shouldn't be a massive problem.
7. IF YOU GO INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IT SHOULD BE FOR LOVE, NOT MONEY!
Only go into music if you have a genuine love for music, because most probably music will be all you get out of it. If you want to live a luxurious life there are many other easier jobs.Is it worth going into the Pop music industry?
1. There would be a lot of pressure. You would be touring often and when you aren't you will be in the studio.
2. Yes you can date.
3. At first your record company might push you around and force you to complete a record by a certain time. After you start putting out really good material and sell a lot you will get more freedom.
4. The bad thing about the music industry is they drop people after one bad debut. The company should let the artist grow before dropping them. If you don't make it you should have a fall back plan.
5. Yes
6. If you become extremely popular it will be harder to. If you are as popular as Jeff Tweety people will know you but not everybody. Wilco fans are pretty cool anyways.
7. Don't be a dick about your music.
