I have been on JSA since july.I got careers advice from the jobcenter to get a job as a nursery assistant .They said the best way to do this is to volenteer in a nursery or a childcare setting which i did.I am now at college doing a 8 month course in childcare, which i am absoloutly love doing. They know that i am doing the course as they have a learning agreement from me.
They have now put me on a NVQ in costumer service and retail for mcdonalds.
Is there anything i can do so i dont have to do the NVQ course. Also on the jobcenter website it says that everyone who is transfered needs a pre screeing interview to see if they are suitable for the couses.I have NOT had a interview but i have been sent a letter saying that i have been accepted on to the course.
Is there anything i can do to get me off the NVQ course ?Is there anything i can do to stop the jobcentre putting me on the course?
Sounds like a c*ck-up to me. Methinks they've sent you the wrong letter, or rather sent the letter to the wrong person. I'd be going into the jobcentre and speaking to someone about it.Is there anything i can do to stop the jobcentre putting me on the course?
The MacDonalds NVQ is a fantastic qualification, and I would advise you to complete it even if it means taking some time out of your nursery work. You can always go back to working in a nursery, but if the NVQ is on offer you would be foolish not to take the opportunity.
Is the 8 month childcare course full time?
If not, why not do the free, customer service course?
You have been on JSA for a while now, and got no employment and are relying on JSA still, they are trying to improve you're prospects a bit so you can earn for yourself. Is there anything i can do to stop the jobcentre putting me on the course?
Contact them as it would make far better sense for you to be put into a childcare job, really odd thing to do (unless they were just picking people at random to massage a few figures to show that they are finding places and removing people off the dole queue)
i would contact the job centre as this is ridiculous it would make more sense to put you on a childcare course and as you are already o na course i would think you dont need to go on another ocurseIs there anything i can do to stop the jobcentre putting me on the course?
Get an appointment with them and explain that childcare is the course that you are doing and want to stay on. Speak to a manager if needed.
