I live near Tucson, I'm 19, so obviously not looking for a career, but it seems like NO ONE is hiring in the area.....not even a pathetic job like a McDonalds burger flipper seems unattainable -__-Is anyone else having as hard a time finding a job???
First of all, ignore Peter M. That's a scam. Second, don't give up at all. Apply out of town if you have to. Call some places and check on your application. Is anyone else having as hard a time finding a job???
That dont work. I had friends try it and got zero.
I think you can probably get something at Target, WalMart, Speedway or gas station with delis, ones that dont require you to be 21. Also , try Dunkin Donuts, and StarBux and those vendors. Panera Bread or Hostesting ANYWHERE is ALWAYS turning over new girls/guys. Hostesting is not the same as waiting tables. You SEAT the people and have to know your areas. Olive Garden, for example calls their tables , NAMES, like Tuscany, etc
The pay is around 9 for hostesting or 2.12 if you WAIT tables, but you can make some good money if you SMILE and are attentive, but its hard dang work!
I never worked in restaruants, but i did hostess an Olive Garden, which i had to open up in the AM, prep the girls for the day , (give them their tables and duties) and then make sure all hostesses / hosts knew what areas to keep clean, (bathrooms/hallways/lobby/etc.
Simple job and i made around 15 plus, but i didnt start out as a hostess, i had my own business doing computer auditing (drivers logs) and started out doing paper work for them at my business-home) and they asked me if i would want to fill in as i was so good with people.
In fact every job i have ever had, they have asked ME. lol! :)
I also still work computer skills strictly from home/no outside work. :)
also if you are a good swimmer and love the outdoors, i know my Y is ALWAYS lookin to hire more teens~!!!! they get hot out there all day long and wont let them work long shifts, like on for 4, off 1 or 2, on 4. If you live close thats ideal, but if you dont, you can only work 4, then maybe afternoon, or whatnot.
With the housing and gas prices not looking good its hard to find jobs now. I would do things that put you apart from others looking for jobs. You can pick a few places to keep going back to. Let them know you really want to work there and when you go back ask for the manager. Give them your name every time you go back. Sooner or later they will know you by face and/or name. You will be on the top of their list.Is anyone else having as hard a time finding a job???
exactly what im going through. im almost 17. but yeah, no ones hiring. theyre all like grr i dont want a 16 year old here. lol. yeah anyway, im trying out preschools. try there. they hire like teaching assistants. and daycares to watch the kids, not so much a school cuz you need to be a teacher. but try the YMCA they look for youth leaders.
Treat this job as you would a career. Go in there like you mean business, confront the manager, have a page of references and demand a job! Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Is anyone else having as hard a time finding a job???
It's because it is the biginning of summer, keep looking you'll find something. Try calling a few places back maybe they didn't notice your application.
Try wal-mart or k-mart..I looked for 3months for a job and finally they both called, but wal-mart paid more and offered alot more.
i can't belive you whant to work at McDonalds come and try being a bartender or sonic carhops make great tips
