I am a 17 year old senior in high school, graduating from my home high school and my vocational school in May 2009. I have taken classes in the Health Careers program for the past two years at a career center. I also have my STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide)license already and have been working with that. As I am reviewing colleges, I have learned that I'm not so sure I know what I want to major in. Being an STNA in a health careers program, I always just assumed I would go down the health path (i.e. becoming an RN, Radiology Tech., Occu. Therapy Tech., etc.), basically something health-related. But I have realized that I also am very interested in Business type jobs and Administration. What would be a *career* that I could major in in college ( 2 year associates degree), that would fit these "requirements" of mine?-
1-job security (once i get the job i can feel secure that i could possibly work there all my life. a job position that doesnt constantly have people coming and going like an STNA or a cashier at McDonalds)
2- well paying based on my hard work and effort. enough money that this career job will support a family (not a brain surgeon's salary, but not a waitress's salary, ya know)
3- business-like (management or administration assistant-like) computer/ "desk job"
4- respectable position
5- "9-5" job
Serious answers only please. Thanks so much! :)Greatest career to go into out of high school?
With your background in nursing you might wast to become a hospital administrator. The pay is decent, Hours predictable. quite a bit of prestige.
